CanExport SMEs: Who Qualifies and What You Get
Small and medium-sized businesses in Canada can access funding to help cover the costs of expanding into international markets.
CanExport SMEs is a program designed to help small and medium-sized businesses grow by entering new international markets.
Who it's for
This program is for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that are looking to expand their business operations into markets outside of Canada.
What you get
You can receive funding to help cover your international marketing expenses. The program provides up to $50,000, which covers 50% of your eligible costs related to marketing your products or services abroad.
What it costs you
To qualify, your business must be a for-profit company. There are specific size requirements: you must have fewer than 500 employees and your annual revenue must be under $100M.
The catch to know
This program works on a reimbursement basis. This means you must have the available cash flow to pay for your marketing activities upfront before you can claim the funding back.
How to apply
- Review the eligibility requirements for your specific business size.
- Gather documentation regarding your planned international marketing activities.
- Submit your application through the official online portal.
