myIR (Inland Revenue): Who Qualifies and What You Get

Use the myIR portal to manage your taxes, student loans, and Working for Families details online.

myIR is the official digital portal provided by the Inland Revenue Department to help you manage your tax affairs and various government financial details through an online account.

Who it's for

This service is designed for all taxpayers. Whether you are an individual managing your own personal finances or part of a larger tax-paying entity, the portal is intended to be the primary way to interact with the Inland Revenue Department digitally.

What you get

The portal acts as a central hub for several different financial and administrative tasks. Through your account, you can manage your tax obligations and view your specific tax records. It also allows you to access and manage details regarding Working for Families (WFF) and monitor the status of your student loan. Having these details in one place helps you keep track of your financial standing with the government without needing to visit an office or call a help desk.

What it costs you

Using the myIR portal is free of charge. There are no subscription fees or service costs to create an account or check your information. However, there is a requirement regarding your digital identity: you must have a RealMe login to access the system. This means you will need to spend a small amount of time setting up or using your existing RealMe credentials to prove your identity before you can reach your private tax information.

The catch to know

The most important thing to remember is that the portal is not open to the general public via a simple username and password. Because the information contained within is highly sensitive, you must have a RealMe account to access it securely. If you do not already have a RealMe account set up, you will need to go through that specific registration process before you can use the myIR services.

How to apply

  1. Make sure you have a valid RealMe account to verify your identity.
  2. Go to the official Inland Revenue website.
  3. Select the option to log in to myIR.
  4. Enter your RealMe credentials to access your personal dashboard.
