Healthier SG: Who Qualifies and What You Get

Learn how Healthier SG provides subsidized health screenings and doctor consultations for eligible residents in Singapore.

Healthier SG is a national initiative designed to help residents focus on preventative care and long-term wellness through a closer relationship with healthcare providers.

Who it's for

This scheme is available to Singaporeans who meet certain age or health criteria. Generally, the program is intended for Singaporeans aged 40 and above. However, if you are younger than 40 but currently manage chronic conditions, you may also be eligible to participate in the scheme.

What you get

The primary benefit of this program is the ability to access subsidized medical services that focus on staying healthy rather than just treating illness. This includes subsidized health screenings to monitor your physical wellness and preventative check-ups. Additionally, you can access subsidized consultations with a General Practitioner (GP) to manage your ongoing health needs.

What it costs you

To take advantage of these benefits, the main requirement is the time and commitment involved in registering with a family doctor. You must establish a formal relationship with a healthcare provider to act as your primary point of contact for medical care.

The catch to know

The most important detail to remember is that the subsidies are tied to your chosen provider. To ensure you receive the subsidized rates for your screenings and consultations, you must stick to the specific enrolled GP that you have registered with. If you visit a doctor outside of your enrolled practice, you may not receive the same level of subsidy.

How to apply

  1. Identify a family doctor in your area that you would like to serve as your primary healthcare provider.
  2. Contact that doctor's clinic to register your interest and officially enroll in the program.
  3. Work with your enrolled GP to undergo recommended health screenings and manage your medical care through their practice.
