Who it's for
This scheme is for employees who have been working for their employer for at least 26 weeks.
What you get
For the first 6 weeks of your leave, you receive 90% of your average weekly earnings. For the remaining 33 weeks, you receive a fixed weekly amount of £184.03.
What it costs you
There is no monetary cost to apply, but you must provide your employer with a MATB1 form, which is a certificate issued to you by your midwife.
The catch to know
You are required to give your employer at least 28 days' notice regarding your maternity leave.
