Relief Amount: Who Qualifies and What You Get

Learn how to access monthly financial support for household help and companionship services if you are receiving care at home.

The Relief Amount is a monthly payment designed to help people living at home with a care degree. It provides financial support to cover the costs of assistance with daily tasks or social companionship.

Who it's for

This scheme is available to anyone who has a recognized care degree and lives at home.

What you get

You receive €125 per month. This money is intended to pay for household help or companionship services (sometimes called Alltagsbegleiter) to assist with daily life.

What it costs you

There is no upfront fee to access this support. However, you must pay for the services yourself first and then submit your invoices to receive a reimbursement.

The catch to know

This is a monthly budget that operates on a "use it or lose it" basis. If you do not use the funds within the month, the money does not roll over to the next month.

How to apply

  1. Confirm your care degree and living situation.
  2. Find a service provider that offers household help or companionship.
  3. Pay the service provider for the assistance received.
  4. Submit your invoices to your care provider for reimbursement.
