Cl@ve System: Who Qualifies and What You Get

Learn how to use the Cl@ve System to access all Spanish government portals with a single digital identity.

The Cl@ve System is a digital identity tool that allows you to log into various government websites using a single set of credentials.

Who it's for

This system is available to any citizen who holds a valid DNI or NIE.

What you get

You receive unified access to all government portals, meaning you do not need to create separate usernames and passwords for every different official website.

What it costs you

The service itself does not have a price, but you will need to invest some time in the initial setup. To get started, you must register either in person at a government office or by using an existing digital certificate.

The catch to know

If you use the PIN version, the code expires very quickly and must be entered immediately. For more frequent or easier access, you should look into using Cl@ve Permanente instead.

How to apply

  1. Gather your DNI or NIE documentation.
  2. Register at a physical government office or use a digital certificate to verify your identity online.
  3. Follow the instructions on the official portal to set up your access.
