DGT Electronic Headquarters: Who Qualifies and What You Get

Access digital services to manage your driver's license points, pay traffic fines, and update your vehicle information online.

The DGT Electronic Headquarters is a digital service provided by the Dirección General de Tráfico that allows drivers to handle various traffic-related administrative tasks through an online portal.

Who it's for

This platform is designed specifically for drivers who need to manage their personal traffic records or vehicle information without visiting a physical office.

What you get

The portal provides several digital tools to help you stay up to date with your driving requirements. You can use the system to check your current driver's license points (puntos del carnet) to see how many you have remaining. It also allows you to pay traffic fines (multas) and perform necessary updates to your vehicle data through the digital interface.

What it costs you

There is no direct monetary fee to access the digital services themselves. However, to ensure security and verify your identity, you must possess a Digital Certificate or use the Cl@ve system to log in. You will need to have these digital credentials ready to access your personal information and complete any transactions.

The catch to know

When dealing with traffic fines, timing is critical for your finances. If you receive a fine and choose to pay it within a 20-day window, you can benefit from a 50% discount on the total amount. Waiting longer than this period will mean you lose that reduction.

How to apply

  1. Prepare your digital identification, such as a Digital Certificate or Cl@ve, to ensure you can log in successfully.
  2. Navigate to the official DGT website.
  3. Locate the specific service you require, such as the section for checking license points, managing vehicle data, or paying fines.
  4. Complete the necessary digital steps and follow the instructions provided on the screen to finalize your request.
